By the end of this workshop, students will be able to identify biases related to weight and appearance, understand their origins and effects, and suggest ways to reduce them.
By the end of this workshop, students will understand how social media works overall, including the factors that can negatively impact body image, which will enable them to take a more critical look at the content they are exposed to. In addition, they will become familiar with various strategies for promoting their well-being on these platforms.
By the end of this workshop, students will understand what body diversity means and why it is essential for fostering a positive body image. In addition, they will learn to critically examine social standards of “beauty” and will be encouraged to recognize and support initiatives that promote body diversity.
By the end of this workshop, students will be able to reflect on the importance placed on appearance in society, recognize the influence of social beauty standards on their well-being, and identify ways to counteract this influence, such as adopting an attitude that values the inner self over outward appearance.
By the end of this workshop, students will understand why comments about weight and appearance can be harmful, even when they are made with good intentions or for a laugh. They will also explore certain prejudices and misconceptions related to weight. In addition, they will learn about different ways to respond to comments about weight and appearance and what to say instead.
